Filling Up

Last night I was out on the ocean at twighlight under a full moon. I was on a surfboard, but not actually surfing. I was floating, being moved by the waves and the scenery around me.

This morning, sitting on the same beach as every morning, the view was not one that I had seen before. There was a ridge of clouds in the distance, but none above. The sun was shining from behind the clouds, creating more stunning beauty than I had yet seen.

I need these times to seek and praise God and for Him to fill me up. I am feeling homesick, just as I expected, but I know that God is with me wherever I go and only He can fulfill me. And so wherever He takes me, that experience is a brick in my life and hopefully one that He can use to make me into the person that He wants me to be. I just have to be open to learn all that He has for me. In order to do that, I must be fully here in every way.

I’ve been in the library in the mornings and in the afternoons I have either been helping with other admin work – I helped type up some of the exams for the preschool, or preparing for tonight’s (Wednesday) Discipleship class.

The staff here has been so great. I am sharing a room with Dinah and her sister Divah. We’ve had a great chance to connect and have some good talks. I love hearing about how they listened to God’s voice and were obedient to Him to come here to serve. To listen to God, and be obedient to Him – that is the only place to be.

Hi Rita,

It's so great to hear about your time at Hope for the Island; how God is using you and how He is speaking to you. I think of you often and pray for you.

I had a nice Thanksgiving weekend; we had family pictures taken at Williams Park and it was a beautiful fall day. We had turkey dinner at my parents place on Monday and I ate way too much!

I look forward to your next update!

Love,

Elaine
